Hi all,

As you wrap up 2020 and start planning for 2021, we want to thank you for your engagement during a year like no other. We have done our best to pivot with you and share our expertise on a multitude of pressing HEOR and market access topics in a variety of ways.

Earlier this year, our Chief Scientist Jereon Jansen and colleague David Phillippo presented a methodology webinar titled A Novel Method to Improve Validity and Relevance of Indirect Comparison and Network Meta-Analysis, in which they introduced multilevel network meta-regression (ML-NMR). In addition, Jeroen Jansen, Shannon Cope and Keith Chan presented a network meta-analysis method for survival outcomes to facilitate CE modeling, building upon our earlier work and allowing for easier implementation and more accurate results.

In October, we partnered with MassBio to explore the challenges of commercializing a cell or gene therapy. Our panel of industry leaders including Francis Pang of Orchard Therapeutics, Ramesh Arjunji of AVROBIO, and Jeremy Schafer shared lessons learned from prior launches and discussed How Cell and Gene Therapies are Reshaping Commercialization Strategies. Earlier this week, we hosted part two of our MassBio webinar series and heard from Paul Rennert of Aleta Biotherapeutics, Tony Khory of Project Farma, and Deb Phippard and Clare Sarvary-Fournier of Precision for Medicine on Planning Successful Studies for Cell and Gene Therapy.  And on December 9, we will partner with Informa Pharma Intelligence to present Considerations for Internal Versus External Manufacturing for Developing Cell and Gene Therapies. Moderated by Erin Harris, Editor in Chief of Cell & Gene, this webinar will feature leading advanced therapy experts Janet Lynch Lambert of Alliance for Regenerative Medicine (ARM), Alexander Karnal of Deerfield Management Company, Tony Khory of Project Farma, and David Carr of PRECISIONadvisors.

Finally, with a focus on health inequality, last month we kicked off a social determinants of health (SDOH) webinar series, collaborating with PRECISIONvalue.  In October we hosted Social Determinants of Health: Perspectives from the Academic, Provider and Research Perspective and on December 2 we’ll continue the series with Assessing and Addressing Social Determinants of Health During a Pandemic.  On this same topic, HEOR colleagues Jason Shafrin and Meena Venkatachalam partnered with the American Journal of Managed Care (AJMC) to publish Steps Health Professionals Can Take to Reduce Inequality in Health Outcomes, and Emma van Eijndhoven and Jim Baumgardner completed a scientific publication on The Societal Value of Broader Access to Antiobesity Medications.

More PRECISIONheor expertise will be on display later this month at Virtual ISPOR EU where Precision will be presenting over a dozen posters and panels. For a more complete listing, check out Precision at Virtual ISPOR EU 2020.  We also invite you to learn more about our experts– this month we feature Vice President Hema Viswanathan who recently joined us from Allergan.  As a reminder, you can hear from our experts regularly by following us on LinkedIn!

We hope you can join us for our November and December events and, if not, check them out in our Precision Events overview.  As always, don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to talk to any of our team members about your challenges and priorities.  Good luck wrapping up the year!
