Please join us for our upcoming 1-hour live webinar on October 25 at 11:00AM PT/ 2:00PM ET.
Projecting long-term societal value: The Health Economics Medical Innovation Simulation (THEMIS) will be presented by PHE Founder and Scientific Advisor Dana Goldman, PhD, and PHE Director, Alison Ward, PhD.
This webinar will provide an in-depth review and discussion of how several challenging but important research questions can be addressed using microsimulation:
- How will new treatments or better use of existing treatments improve population health?
- How much value will treatments generate over the long term?
- What will be the effect of access policies on future pharmaceutical innovation?
To answer these questions, PHE and its academic partners have developed THEMIS, a simulation built using nationally representative data. THEMIS enables researchers to use these historical data to evaluate how interventions will impact future population health and economic outcomes over the next 10, 20, or even 30 years. The model has been validated and published extensively, and this webinar will review how it can be applied as an important component of evidence generation to demonstrate long-term value.
A live Q&A session led by Drs. Goldman and Ward will follow the presentation.
