Hi all,

We hope you are having a good summer! This has been a year like no other and we will continue to do our best to pivot with you and provide you with the best research and resources to bring your innovation to market. Earlier this year Jereon Jansen and Shannon Cope hosted a webinar on Evidence Synthesis Challenges and Solutions for Health Economic Modeling. We will be hosting another webinar in September on A Novel Method to Improve Validity and Relevance Of Indirect Comparisons and Network Meta-Analysis

We have a few exciting announcements from our team. For the third consecutive year, Jason Shafrin’s blog, Healthcare Economist, has been listed as one of the Top 100 Economics Blogs by Intelligent Economist. Jason is continually producing impactful research. Jason teamed up with us last month to write a perspective in the Journal of Clinical Pathways, COVID-19 Pandemic Vindicates the ISPOR Value Flower, discussing the right price for a new treatment for COVID-19 and why the “value flower” provides a helpful framework to consider how to value treatments which have a transformational impact on the lives of not only of patients, but also caregivers, employers, and broader society. In addition, Jason and Meena Venkatachalam were featured in Health Affairs for their blog post Creating Incentives To Narrow The Gap In Health Outcomes: Expanding Value Assessment To Incorporate Health Inequality.  They will share more about their work on this important topic in a webinar on Wednesday, August 26, 12:00 PM EDT. Click here to register!

Finally, in an effort to highlight and introduce you to our team, we will start providing staff features! This month we feature Suepattra May-Slater PhD, one of our Principal Scientists who has been in healthcare over 20 years, co-authored 20 peer-reviewed publications, and presented at over 50 conferences. We hope you enjoy learning more about our team.

As always, don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to talk to any of our team members about your challenges and priorities.  And follow us on LinkedIn to stay up to date with our monthly webinars, thought leadership and other activities!

Sincerely,

Ross Maclean, MD

Upcoming webinar: Using HEOR Methods to Reduce Health Inequalities

Join PRECISIONheor’s Jason Shafrin and Meena Venkatachalam on Wednesday, 8/26 12:00 PM EDT- 1:00 PM EDT, as they discuss their recently published piece in the health policy journal Health Affairs on how novel methods of Cost-Effectiveness Analysis can be used to expand traditional value frameworks.

Upcoming webinar: A Novel Method to Improve Validity and Relevance Of Indirect Comparisons and Network Meta-Analysis

Join us Thursday, 9/10 12:00 PM EDT - 1:00 PM EDT as Jeroen Jansen and David Phillippo host a special webinar and Q&A on the novel method called multilevel network meta-regression (ML-NMR). The method addresses several limitations with current methods, including synthesizing networks of any size and availability of IPD or aggregate studies, and – crucially for decision-making – producing estimates in any target population of interest.

PRECISIONheor’s Thought Leadership
